New Updates on the Carnival Triumph

CARNIVAL TRIUMPH RETURNS REVAMPED AND RECHARGED

The Carnival Triumph returned to regular service on Thursday, June 13, 2013 with 4 and 5 day cruises to Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico from its year-round homeport of Galveston, Texas. “Carnival Triumph is returning to service looking like a new ship, with a variety of technical, food and beverage and entertainment upgrades,” says CEO Gerry Cahill. “This is a proud day for Carnival and the culmination of a huge effort by our employees.”

In celebration of the Triumph’s return and to show their guests how much they appreciate their faith in Carnival's brand, a number of giveaways and special events were planned for departure day. They included: a celebrity comedy show, a shipboard scavenger hunt, trivia, a hamburger-making contest and fun photo opportunities.

Carnival has spent a total of $115 million to repair and upgrade the 2,758-passenger ship, as well as add a number of Fun Ship 2.0 dining and bar innovations.

Carnival Triumph passengers will now enjoy:

  • Guy’s Burger Joint - a free poolside venue created by Food Network personality Guy Fieri
  • BlueIguana Cantina - a free-of-charge taco and burrito buffet
  • RedFrog Rum Bar - a poolside Caribbean-themed watering hole
  • BlueIguana Tequila Bar - a lively Mexican-themed poolside bar
  • Alchemy Bar - a cocktail “pharmacy” serving specialty drinks
  • EA Sports Bar - a sports-themed lounge with live televised sporting events and video games

Carnival's fleet-wide commitment

In keeping its commitment to providing guests with a safe and memorable vacation experience, Carnival has invested $300 million in a program for the entire 24-ship fleet, which includes installation of the most technologically advanced fire-suppression systems available, installation of a second emergency backup generator on every ship to power toilets, elevators and food service in the unlikely event of loss of main power, and reconfiguration of key systems to ensure redundancy in propulsion and main power supplies.
